Plansee
Plansee is Tyrol's second largest lake and the most well-known of the many mountain lakes in our region.
With a length of 6 km, it measures over 76 metres at its deepest point. The purity of its grade 1 quality water makes it an excellent starting point for a whole host of activities around the lake.
Not only is Lake Plansee ideal for swimming, it is also great for sailing, surfing, diving and fishing.
Swimming is permitted anywhere in the entire lake free of charge, except for the facilities zone, which includes a camping area, kiosk and sunbathing lawn, and is subject to an admission fee from May to October.
A narrow canal connects Lake Plansee to Lake Heiterwang and boats operate between the two lakes in the summertime.
The trails around Lake Plansee offer something to suit all tastes – from the leisurely circular trail to the idyllic Stuibenfall waterfalls (a popular spot for canyoning), to the more challenging mountain bike route to Lake Urisee for experienced riders.
